Last year, Baskin-Robbins gave patrons the chance to slime their summer, offering up a green-slime topping that would’ve made for an incredible tie-in to Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

While many fans assumed that the promotion was supposed to be tied initially to Afterlife, likely being canceled due to the film’s numerous delays, we weren’t able to get confirmation of that theory, at least, until now.

Today’s feature comes from SVP Director of Design & Digital Experiences of 22squared, Daniel Brown, who has uploaded what appears to be a near-complete portfolio of concepts and designs surrounding the promotion, which includes imagery of lime ice cream covered in the green slime topping, along with an unnamed flavor, that may have been inspired by either the Mini-Pufts or Muncher.

Speaking of Afterlife’s cast of characters, there were plans to have the Mini-Pufts adorn the store. This would’ve come from using various window and floor clings and seeing the marshmallow minions get into assorted hijinks.

Ghostbusters-themed tubs of ice cream, with the tagline Paranormal is the New Normal, are also showcased, and while it’s just an assumption, would’ve likely been tied to the aforementioned themed ice creams.

Not ending it there, to go along with the tasty deserts, apparel was also going to be available, including one design of the Mini-Pufts commandeering the Ecto-1, complete with an ice cream cone in hand!

Of course, this isn’t to say that a tie-in between Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Baskin-Robbins didn’t take place, as aside from the film including a scene of Paul Rudd’s character picking out a pint of Jamoca ice cream, an exclusive Funko Pop! of a Mini-Puft was made available. Australian locations also ran an exclusive promotion, offering a Toasted Marshmallow Ghost Cup.
