Having trouble reaching your goals…Sound familiar?
Reaching your goals is mostly a visual thing right?
Most people…not all, do not even have goals, only dreams! Sadly, this is true.
Assuming you have any goals. The first question I would ask is this.
Do you have your goals written out? If the answer is yes, congratulations are in order.
Then, I would follow-up with this question:
How do you reach your goals?
Can you even answer those two questions?
If no, why not? What’s keeping you from writing your goals out? What is holding you back…Is it fear of actually reaching those goals, could it be procrastination or is it because you don’t believe in yourself or in your ability that you can do it all alone? It could any one of these. This is simply keeping you from actually reaching your goals.
Well, I am here to give you the cold hard truth about reaching your goals. You must have them written out. Just give it some thought. Write them down. It not that difficult.
How can you stay on course without a writing your goals down? You simply can’t.
There are Four types of goals.
1. Short term goals are just that. You could have daily goals to reach by the end of the day or even by the end of the week.
An example would be: I will make 125 calls today. I will get 30 people to say yes to my offer.
Regardless, if you get them all done. If you don’t’ well, just pick up where you left off the very next day. Don’t beat yourself up if you happen to fall short of your goal. Your human.
Tip: Having a daily schedule packed with money making activities every hour will help you to reach those short term goals.
2. Long term goals are projected more into the near future such as a yearly goal or even benchmarks for the next 3, 5 or even 10 years out.
Here is one example:
I am going to grow my client base by 50 percent from last years clients.
Here is another example:
I am going to purchase a boat pay cash for it.
You can also have:
3 Business goals are for business.
4. Personal goals are personal.
* You get it with the examples I had mentioned above.
Now, I will tell you this. Just because you write down your goals, you can’t have your goals tucked away where you can’t see them! You need to visualize your goals and follow through with them while giving it your best efforts in completing them.
Do you have a Visual Board?
A cork or white board. Anything that will allow you to see your goals.
Whether it be your daily call schedule, X number of appointments and or sales (short-term business goal), or having a photo of the boat you want, a sports car or a dream house (long-term personal goal). Whatever it is, just make sure you can see it in your work space. It really helps to see them right in front of you. Purpose.
Staying on course day after day, week after week, will surely keep you on the right track to obtain those goals you have set forth.
